At over 90 minutes, Lil B's "first official mixtape" is chock-full of freewheeling, creative highs; as well as lows that range from mundane to annoying.

Lil B - Pink Flame

Now that the drama from the Lil B and Joey Bada$$ has settled, let's take a look at the Lil B mixtape that the "I'm The Bada$$" track came from, Pink Flame. It's the Based God's first mixtape of the year, and features a cover that implies it could be one of his most absurd to date.
So far, there are a few snoozers like "Ban the Weapons," but B is at his best with bizarre bangers like "Flex 36" and the Super Mario Bros.-sampling "1000 Bitches."
Lil B and Joey Bada$$ Are Beefing?

It seems two of the larger figures in underground hip hop are at it right now, and trading shots in new tracks in an age where most hip hop stars are just content to keep most confrontations on Twitter.
I'm surprised it went as far as these two cuts, which are both pretty decent tracks from B and Joey. Both of 'em sound hungry, confident, and aggressive over well-produced instrumentals. It's entertainment at the end of the day, but I'd support more headbutting between these guys if we continue to get tracks like this.
Oh, and I all think we know where the title of Joey's track came from. R.I.P. STEEZ.
Lil B- "California Boy"
Reviews4 CommentsOn "California Boy," Lil B, a.k.a. Brandon McCartney, exposes his true, really real, and raw self. He levels up like a Pokemon, gaining experience with each song he releases. Lil B is coming out with a rock album because he's basically evolved into a rock artist.

Lil B "The Based God"- Trapped In Basedworld

Not only is the title to Lil B's latest mixtape hilariously clever, but a lot of the tracks on the tape are absolute bangers.
There was a time when I thought the Based God's schtick would fade, but he seems to be doing better than ever in 2012. Between his recent lecture at NYU and the hype-worthy God's Father mixtape, Lil B's got enough momentum to keep Based World growing for the rest of this year.
Keep those Datpiff downloads comin'.
