Wavves x Cloud Nothings - No Life for Me

Here's a collaborative full-length from Nathan Williams (Wavves), the vanguard of Cali surf punk, and post-hardcore darling Dylan Baldi, of Ohio's Cloud Nothings. The album was produced by Williams and his brother Joel (who comprise the instrumental hip hop duo Sweet Valley) and is out via his Ghost Ramp imprint.

Chomp- "Fresh Wounds"

Stream: Chomp- "Fresh Wounds" Cloud Nothings members Joe Boyer and Jayson Gerycz have a new side project in the works called Chomp, and are set to release their debut full length Buddha Jabba Momma next month. They dropped a single called "Throw Out Your Wish List" last month, and now they have another track out, a clattering, synth-heavy lo-fi gem called "Fresh Wounds." The track starts out with some sweetly melodic harmonizing vocals and eventually drops off into a buzzing, drum machine-powered piece of catchy pop/rock. It's not nearly as barbed as the material on Cloud Nothings' latest LP Attack On Memory, but it still has enough of a rough edge  to hold my interest.

Buddha Jabba Momma is out 9/18 on Exit Stencil.

Cloud Nothings- "No Future / No Past"

A video pushing a track from the new Cloud Nothings album, Attack On Memory.

Directed by Ryan Manning and shot by cinematographer Caleb Crossen, here's a video for the Cloud Nothings track "No Future / No Past." Featuring a middle-aged man floating away for reasons that are out of his control, this is easily one of the strangest videos I've seen in a while. I can't help but feel scared and worried for the man in the video as I watch his looks of despair grow more and more intense. The ending is pretty creepy, too.

Cloud Nothings' latest album is out now on Car Park.

Cloud Nothings- "Stay Useless"

Here is the second track to drop from the forthcoming Cloud Nothings album, Attack On Memory. It'll be out on Jan. 24th via Carpark.

To be honest, I liked the first track to drop from this album more. The dark and moody aura that surrounded "No Future, No Past" stuck with me a bit more. On "Stay Useless," Cloud Nothings chases after the same fleeting slacker attitude that was all over the project's last album.

All of that aside, the hook on this track is pretty nice. Still looking forward to the release, I'd say.
