Godflesh - Decline and Fall EP

New TracksadminComment

Famed industrial metal outfit Godflesh is back with a new EP, which I understand is just a taster for an album that's to come later this year titled A World Lit Only By Fire. It'll be the band's first record in over ten years, and they're sounding heavier than ever on this new EP, so I'm seeing no reason to be disappointed so far! Enjoy!

Napalm Death- "Analysis Paralysis"

For the past several days, I've been listening to the new Napalm Death album, Utilitarian. I was sorta lukewarm on it at first, but now I'm coming around; however, I feel like this new band-directed video is throwing me back into a pit of emotional ambiguity.

For a band that's known for its fundamental contributions to extreme music, most of the expressions throughout this video look pretty, well, unenthusiastic. Maybe the video session didn't hold a lot of chemistry for Napalm, I dunno.

I don't know what's up with these weird chroma key shots combined with stock footage of avalanches and skies either. It just seems like a video that would have been produced on an extremely low budget in the 90s.

The song is decent, though.

Jesu Gets Demixed ‡ MP3

If you're into experimental music's louder side, the work of Justin K. Broadrick is a must. With Napalm Death, Jesu, and Godflesh, the guy has built up a lot of cred.

This August via Ghostly, he's letting us in on some b-sides under the name "Pale Sketcher." The forthcoming album is a set of remixes, re-dos, and tracks that were far outside of Jesu's borders. Grab one of the songs below:

MP3: Pale Sketcher- Plans That Fade (Faded Dub)

Was this song something you would expect from Broadrick? Too 'trippy'? Not 'trippy' enough? What do you think this album will be like? What Broadrick reached the status where we should be worshiping everything he does? TND TIP: WAIT PATIENTLY.
