Stream or Download Death Grips' NO LOVE DEEP WEB
New Tracks15 CommentsSacramento's experimental hip hop heroes Death Grips finally release the second album they promised this year, NO LOVE DEEP WEB; however, it doesn't seem to be according to the original plan, which was to have their new record label, Epic, put out the album sometime in the fall of 2012. According to the band's Twitter account, Epic wouldn't confirm a 2012 release date for NLDW, pushing the album's release well into 2013. Death grips seems to have stepped around this by leaking the album themselves on SoundCloud, YouTube, their own website, and numerous filesharing platforms such as Mediafire.
And the NSFW cover? You can figure that out for yourself...
As great as it is to hear the album, question do come up. Is the label really not OK with this? If record sales and bottom lines are Epic's focus, then it would in their best interest to put a stop to all of this, right? Being the major label that they are, I'd think they'd have the power to flip the switch on this if they liked. Was Death Grips able to retain the right to disseminate their music as they please in their contract? Will this effect any official release plans for NLDW? We'll see, won't we?
Death Grips- "Double Helix"
Videos1 CommentDeath Grips drops some new visuals for the track "Double Helix." Like most music videos from these guys, the concept is simple, the budget it low, but it still manages to achieve a weird originality. Rapping into the camera built into the back of a car that's supposed to help drivers avoid accidents an incredibly "Death Grippy" concept. It actually works really well. The grainy, digital video quality looks like something you'd catch on one of those specials on TV where cops are pulling over crazy drunk drivers or something. If MC Ride isn't inebriated in this video, he certainly fits the crazy criteria. HUMP THAT CAR!

Death Grips- "Hustle Bones"
Videos6 CommentsDeath Grips drops a video for the track "Hustle Bones," which comes from the group's latest album, the Money Store. While it's depressing the group cancelled their recent tour, I guess it's nice to see some confirmation that they're still together and functioning. Not sure if throwing money, weed, and beer into a dryer is their version of "ballin'," though.
Björk- "Sacrifice" (Death Grips Remix)
New Tracks1 CommentBjörk's "Sacrifice," a track from the Icelandic singer-songwriter's latest album, crossed with sounds from the new Death Grips album, the Money Store. A combination I didn't see coming, but am casually enjoying.
