A$AP Nast - "Trillmatic" ft. Method Man

Method Man teams up with the A$AP Mob's A$AP Nast for a new single titled "Trillmatic," which has a hard-hitting, vintage boom bap beat that nostalgic hip hop listeners will dig on. While I'm not too crazy about the "funky style" and "funky swag" oozing out of this single, this song does give me hope the A$AP Mob may have more to offer than Rocky and Ferg. Enjoy!

Artificial Brain - "Absorbing Black Ignition"

Some incredibly dense, layered, and technical death metal from the New York band Artificial Brain. "Absorbing Black Ignition" is the first song to drop from their forthcoming debut album, Labyrinth Constellation. The LP is currently looking at a February 18th release date on Profound Lore. I think there's a lot to expect based on what's being displayed on the track above. For one, the track is incredibly varied with guitars that crush, uplift, and wail with dissonance. There's an interesting keyboard added to the last third of the song that breaks things up a bit, and the drums are absolutely insane. The percussion here is so fast, but the band has obviously opted for a more natural feel to their recording than some technical death metal bands out there these days. The atmospheric finish is a nice touch as well. Enjoy!

Doomed Boys/Tom Lincolnway - "Werewolf"/"Trepanation"

Doomed Boys (previously Super Minotaur) is a Chicagoan collective of writers, illustrators, and musicians whose art tends to go in an alluringly scuzzy direction. This can be seen in the few drawings they've posted to their Facebook, as well as in these two most recent songs they've produced. Above, check out the fuzzed-out garage rocker "Werewolf," and below, give a listen to the latest lo-fi piece from Doomed Boys affiliate Tim McGinn (under his moniker Tom Lincolnway). Enjoy!

Jon Hopkins - "Collider"

Electronic music producer Jon Hopkins drops some visuals for the song "Collider," which is one of the many great tracks from his latest full-length, Immunity, which you can catch a review for below.

The story here seems to follow one girl reliving a nightmarish night at the club that involves some epileptic fits--I'm assuming they're drug-related--and one of the most aggressive make out sessions I've seen in a while. The last third actually becomes slightly uncomfortable to watch as our female protagonist struggles against the grip of some fellow clubgoer who looks like he's trying to help her--uh, I think.

Behemoth - "Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel"

With the release of this new Behemoth song comes the announcement of the Polish black metal band's next record, The Satanist. The album is currently looking at a February 3rd release date on Nuclear Blast, and the track that's just been dropped has a symphonic quality to it. The band's busy drums, grim riffs, and abrasive vocals show Behemoth sticking to their guns, but the added vocals, strings, and horns add a nice touch. While Behemoth isn't the first and won't the the last to incorporate lavish instrumentation into extreme metal, I thought this instance was well-executed. Enjoy!

Audion (a.k.a. Matthew Dear) - "Sky"

Next week, Matthew Dear will be putting out his career-spanning Audion retrospective Audion X. He teased this sweet compilation of techno last month with the single "Motormouth" and now we have the 11-minute-long "Sky" to further pique our interest. Dear describes the piece perfectly as "a long burning wave of joy and exultation." It's certainly enough to leave any Matthew Dear/Audion fan giddy and excited for Audion X's December 10 release via Spectral Sound.

Stuntman - "Bag of Dicks"

Stream: Stuntman - "Bag of Dicks" Next month, French hardcore outfit Stuntman will drop its third studio album, Incorporate the Excess. The band flaunts its unremitting brutality with lead single "Bag of Dicks," a song whose title pretty much says it all. It's an exceptionally  confrontational three minutes of sharp, noisy grindcore leads; frenzied, whiplash-inducing drumming; and snarled, caustic vocals. Give a listen above if you're feeling brave!

Incorporate the Excess is due out January 18 via Solar Flare Records.
