Hilang Child's First Writings EP is a collection of wintery and emotive ballads that have a Fleet Foxes-like appreciation for dynamics and vocal harmonies. Though the inspiration is very obvious, it doesn't stop songs like the opening track from being incredibly moving with its ascending voices, cymbal swells, and string arrangements.
