Blu & Exile- Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them
Reviews2 CommentsWhile not as focused as 2007's Below the Heavens, what Blu & Exile do on this new and remastered collection of tracks is nonetheless interesting, smooth, and entertaining.

Blu & Exile- "A Man"
New Tracks3 CommentsIt's been about five years since California natives Blu & Exile teamed up and released the modern hip hop classic Below the Heavens. They'll be putting out another album later this year, and it's an LP I believe leaked onto Bandcamp for a short while last year, but the final version set to drop in September will have a more finished feel to it--you see, the leaked version was pretty lo-fi, and allegedly unmastered.
Blu & Exile are building up the buzz for their next collab with a new EP of tracks, which the track streaming above comes from. The EP's title: Maybe One Day. It's out now via Dirty Science / Fat Beats. Blu's lyrics on this thing are pretty sharp, targeting some potent emotions. Exile's production serves as a perfect bed for the sentiments behind the verses, too.
Exile- "Klepto"
Videos2 CommentsA hilarious music video from one of the better hip hop producers out there right now. I'll admit I slept on his last album a bit, 4TRK MIND. Not gonna lie about that, but Exile's mic skills just don't hit me with the same power his production does.
Still, this track, and the music video pared with it, are one of the brighter moments in Exile's discography. Stellar beat, playful attitude, and catchy hook.
Blu & Exile- Give Me My Flowers While I Can Smell Them
New Tracks2 CommentsA new collaborative album from West Coast MC Blu and producer Exile. It's not mixed or mastered, but there are some interesting samples and verses pulled together by these two. Blu's verses about the world at large on "more out of life." are pretty thought-provoking, and the Tom Waits sample on "seasons." seems like it shouldn't work, but it does. Enjoy, and grab a digital copy on Bandcamp.
