Slow Animal - "Other Side"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1fnSQukBE4 Slow Animal is just 2 boyz based out of Philadelphia who wanna have fun. And fun they deliver on, producing energetic, surfy kinds of punk tunes that fans of Wavves are likely to enjoy. They also have a cat, judging from this black and white video for their new single "Other Side," just in case the music itself isn't fun enough. An EP of the same name is due out next Monday, and yeah, it's probably gonna be a good time. Check out the song above and enjoy!

The duo also dropped this four-track demo back in 2010 that you should give a quick listen if this type of music is your bag.

Caged Animals - "Cindy + Me"

Caged Animals are bringing out a quirky and infectious pop sound with "Cindy + Me," and it's hitting all the right notes. The synth and bass grooves definitely add a lot to the already infectious aspects of this song--like the constantly ascending and descending guitar leads.

The quirky vocals and lyrics are hilariously accented by a pretty strange video filled with monkey scientists that are carrying out all kinds of sick, disturbing tests on this man who is clearly suffering from a broken heart. Enjoy!

Mikal Cronin - MCII

Stream: Mikal Cronin - MCII Mikal Cronin is bringing out the first truly summer ready album of the year.

All of the songs embrace a brand of pop rock that will get your body moving and ready for the sun. Cronin clearly knows what he is doing with these songs as they feel beautifully full and warm just like the season they clearly embrace. Most importantly they are fun without losing the personality that can come from making music like this, while still having that dance happy tempo to them and soft instrumentation that occasionally ramps up the volume.

PVT - "Homosapien"

PVT bringing the moody glitchy electronic tunes with a lot fun in the mix too.

One of the members was quoted as saying they listened to a lot of Joy Division while writing this song and that is pretty imminent here, but instead of groups like Editors who more less blandly follow the framework of that style of music with some added synthesizers, PVT makes this style wholly their own by adding the glitch electronic effects along with dreary vocals and thumping bass. This is inspiration done right where the artists have taken a style and made it their own.

King Tuff- "Alone And Stoned"

Sometimes all you need is the title of the song to know what the video is going to be like, this is one of those times.

King Tuff is a project from the frontman of the former stoner metal outfit Witch, Kyle Thomas. It should be noted that King Tuff is really nothing like that, instead it brings a fantastic vibe of fun garage styled rock music. The kind of music that can teleport you different time; it has a pure sensation that the lo-fi quality really helps bring out.

For the video they did what needed to be done, meaning they got a bunch of odd characters in strange rooms to do really silly acts that one would only find entertaining if they were stoned. It fits the song perfectly, although, a lot of the time I get a kind of creepy vibe from the people in it. Maybe it's just the guy wrapped in the American flag playing with a small dog, who knows?

Father John Misty- "This is Sally Hatchet"

As many of you may know, Josh Tillman, a.k.a. the former drummer of Fleet Foxes, released his debut album, Fear Fun, a couple of weeks ago via Sub Pop Records. The album features this track, "This is Sally Hatchet," which now has a video that you can watch above.

The clip depicts Tillman as an employee of am eerie pizza place, where he is intruded upon by a firearm-wielding femme fatale. The woman proceeds to display her chops at a target practice, and somewhere along the way, Tillman's hand suffers a serious wound by way of a pizza slicer that was used to cut a pie into a pentagram. Bonus: despite the twisted nature of the video, there is some dancing evolved, so it's not all dark. Confused? Just watch it yourself.
