The most fun Peps album in a long, long time.

Pharoahe Monch - P.T.S.D.
Reviews2 CommentsNew York hip hop legend returns with P.T.S.D., following up the lackluster W.A.R. with a more solid project.
Old Gray- Everything I Let Go & The Things I Refuse To
New TracksCommentOld Gray has put together an emotional EP hoping to convey the strong messages with the powerful force of their musical style behind it.
While I may not be a fan of this particular vocalists style of screaming as it seems to be more indecipherable compared to most music in the genre I can still appreciate the power and pain that he is conveying with his screams. Along with that when you click on one of their tracks on Bandcamp it explains the meanings behind the song which is a cool Rap Genius type thing to do. The brand also provides some pretty almost jazz-like grooves that of course grow more intense and twisted.
Aesop Rock- Skelethon
Reviews3 CommentsAesop Rock's latest album shows him on top of his lyrical game, and taking on production duties as well.

Open Mike Eagle- 4NML HSPTL
ReviewsCommentThough not his boldest or most memorable statement yet, hip hop eccentric Open Mike Eagle certainly delivers something glitchy, colorful, and consistent on 4NML HSPTL.

Oddisee- "Way In Way Out"
New TracksCommentOddisee has leaked a track from his new album People Hear What They See. On "Way In Way Out" this Maryland-born MC analyzes the segregation in America through tremendous amounts of wit and cunning in his wordplay. He does with a solid delivery that clearly gets his points across with a feeling of ease. The beat has a powerful marching brass line with a heavy bass kick thrown in for emphasis. Oddisee rides the beat well and it is definitely the perfect beat for him as it suits his style of rap and lyrical prowess.
People Hear What They See is available now.
Quakers- Self-Titled
Reviews3 CommentsWith three producers and about 30 MCs, Quakers delivers a ton of material on its full-length debut. However, in my opinion, it emphasizes MC quantity over quality a bit too much. The beats are solid, though.

Hip Hatchet- Joy And Better Days
New TracksCommentHip Hatchet is a country-folk project from singer songwriter Philippe Bronchtein. The tracks on this LP feature some beautifully finger-picked guitar. There's a decent amount of diversity in instrumentation from track to track, helping to keep every song fresh. Bronchtein is a very descriptive songwriter and really excels at making it feel you are there with him in these places and situations he describes. This lyrical ability combined with a vocal delivery that gives him an overwhelming sense of wisdom makes this an album worth checking out.
