Da Mafia 6ix - 6ix Commandments

Stream: Da Mafia 6ix - 6ix Commandments Sorry I haven't mentioned this yet, but an occasion such as this can't be talked about too many times, honestly.

Three 6 Mafia is back, but they're now working under a different name and making music sans a few original members. I'll let Koopsta explain:

Like Koop said, Juicy J isn't in the mix on this new mixtape, and I don't think Gangsta Blac and La' Chat are on any of these cuts either. However, despite all of that--and a name change--the group has managed to bring back their classic sound without sparing us on their typically grimy, eerie edge. Download the tape via the link at the top of this post, and enjoy!

Yelawolf - Trunk Muzik Returns

New Tracksadmin4 Comments

After a pretty lackluster commercial release, Alabama rapper Yelawolf comes back with a new mixtape titled Trunk Muizik Returns. And the tape isn't just a mere reference to some of Yela's previous efforts. Rather, it's a legitimate return to his dark, grimy, Southern style and speedy flows. While I can't guarantee you that his lyrical content is gonna blow you away, Yela continues to showcase style and potential on the ten tracks here.

Check this review for Yelawolf's Radioactive:

Yelawolf- "No Hands"

A new video from Alabama's Yelawolf, which is featured in Ubisoft’s Driver San Francisco. For now, this track seems kinda relegated to video game fame, but Yela still goes hard. I'm loving the beat on this one, because the horns and dreary synth chords are absolutely gorgeous.

Look for Yela's new album, Radioactive, at the end of September.

Big K.R.I.T. ft. Yelawolf- "Happy Birthday Hip Hop"

Featuring Yelawolf, this Big K.R.I.T. track is from the Mississippi rapper's forthcoming mixtape, the Last King 2.

Obviously, I'm looking forward to this tape. Many of y'all already know how much I loved this guy's last release.

As usual, K.R.I.T. brings some great, jazzy samples and a fantastic hook. The surprise for me, though, is Yelawolf. I was kinda on the fence with the guy, thinking he was destined to walk in the steps of Eminem. Oh, I'll withhold judgement until the guy's next album drops in September.

What matters is on this track, Yelawolf kills it, referencing Southern greats like Skinny Pimp and UGK in his rhymes.

The Last King 2 should be dropping August 18th. I'm sure it will be downloadable on K.R.I.T.'s website.
